Some of the best independent singers and bands from around the world hit the red carpet recently during the 2023 Indie Music Channel Awards held at the Hang On to the Dream Theatre, located on the legendary “Walk of Fame” in Hollywood, CA. Among those recognized for their outstanding achievements in music was Conway-based singer/songwriter Kristi Jacques, who won the
award for “Best Emerging Female Artist of the Year” for her songs “Better Late Than Never”, and
“Working On a Dream”. Jacques, who is in need of a double lung transplant, says that winning an award in Hollywood is a huge thrill.

“I was honestly very shocked. I am also very honored and grateful because there are so many incredible artists out there. I started in music over 30+ years ago, but then let life get in the way. Now, I’ve renewed my passion for music and I’m not looking back!”

The Indie Music Channel Awards is a prestigious annual event where the best independent singers and
bands of all genres of music (including Rock, Pop, Country, Classical, R&B, Christian Contemporary and
more) from around the world are recognized for their outstanding achievements.
